Welcome to Book Two

An Introduction to Sir Dim's Most Interactive (and Confusing) Adventure Yet!

Greetings, Brave Adventurer!

If you have read the first Dim Knight Chronicles, you already know that Sir Dim is the bravest, most loyal, and... well... let's just say most easily confused knight in the entire kingdom. Usually, you just sit back, turn the pages, and watch him mistakenly charge at windmills or try to rescue a dragon from a very small, angry cat.

But for Book Two, things have changed. The kingdom is in a massive muddle, the clues are scattered, and frankly, Sir Dim cannot solve this mystery alone. If we leave it entirely up to him, he will end up locked in a dungeon cupboard within three pages.

That is why this book has been entirely adapted into an interactive mystery experience!

From this moment on, you are taking the reins. You aren't just reading the story anymore — you are driving it. Sir Dim will make the mistakes, but you have to use your brain, solve the puzzles, and make the big decisions to get him out of trouble.

How to Play Your Part

📱 You're reading the interactive app version.
When you reach a puzzle, tap the answer you think is correct. The story will jump to the right place automatically. If you get it wrong, a Try Again button brings you straight back. No page numbers needed.

The Golden Rules

  1. Look Closer: Clues are hidden everywhere — in diary entries, on old shields, and even in a wizard's broken compass.
  2. Expect the Unexpected: There are multiple pathways and several different endings. Some lead to victory, some to partial success, and a few might land you in a giant bowl of goblin soup.
  3. Don't Give Up: Wrong choice? The Try Again button is always there. Use it.
Sir Dim has his armour polished, his wooden sword ready, and absolutely no idea what he is doing.

Draw your sword, sharpen your wits, and let's go solve a mystery!

Chapter 11

The Time Travel Tangle

It started, as most disasters in Confusington did, with Dodderick trying to be helpful.

"I shall fix your broken clock, Your Majesty!" announced Dodderick, waving his wand at the grandfather clock that had stopped working three years ago.

"It doesn't need fixing," said Princess Chandamel. "We just use it as a coat rack now."

"NONSENSE! TICKY-TOCKY-TIMEY-WIMEY!"

The spell hit the clock. The clock began spinning. Faster. FASTER. FASTER!

"Um," said Dodderick. "That's not supposed to—"

BOOOOOOOOM!

A swirling purple portal opened in the middle of the throne room and SUCKED IN everyone nearby. Also sucked in: Which Witch, That Witch, and Sand Witch, who had been visiting to sell the King some "definitely not cursed" cookies.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!" screamed everyone as they tumbled through time.

"WHICH WAY ARE WE GOING?!" screamed Which Witch. "THAT WAY!" screamed That Witch, pointing in seventeen directions at once. "I DROPPED MY SANDWICH!" screamed Sand Witch.

THUD!

Everyone crashes through time and lands in a heap

The time travel landing — somewhat ungraceful

Everyone landed in a pile in what appeared to be... the same throne room. But DIFFERENT. The throne room looked ANCIENT. Cobwebs everywhere. And sitting on the throne was an OLD version of the King, with a beard down to his knees.

"Are you... are you from the PAST?" asked an old woman in royal robes.

"We're from... now?" tried Dim Knight. "What YEAR is this?"

"It's the year 3025. You've traveled ONE THOUSAND YEARS into the FUTURE!"

Future Confusington was VERY different. The castle was now made entirely of cheese. Gerald's descendants ran a restaurant called "Burp & Dine." Glitterbane was somehow still alive and still grumpy — rainbow-coloured from a thousand years of rainbow farts.

"Unicorns live forever," grumbled Future Glitterbane. "It's EXHAUSTING. I've been annoyed for TEN CENTURIES."

But there was a FOURTH witch — one they'd never seen before.

"Who are YOU?" asked Dim Knight.

"Yes," said the fourth witch.

"Yes what?"

"I'm Who Witch."

"That's what I'm ASKING! WHO are you?!"

"Exactly! I'm Who Witch!"

Dim Knight's brain made a small creaking noise.

The Future Kingdom had one MAJOR problem: The Great Fart Cloud. Gerald's descendants had been farting for a thousand years. The farts had EVOLVED. They were now SENTIENT.

The Fartarian Empire demands tribute — sentient green fart-clouds

Emperor Stinkicus the Third demands tribute

"They call themselves the Fartarian Empire," explained Future Queen Chandamel the Patient. "They demand tribute."

"GREETINGS, PAST-DWELLERS," rumbled Emperor Stinkicus the Third. "WE DEMAND... THE TRIBUTE!"

"What's the tribute?" asked Dim Knight.

"BEANS. LOTS OF BEANS. AND ALSO SANDWICHES."

Gerald felt EXTREMELY guilty. "This is all MY fault! My farts created an EVIL EMPIRE!"

The witches combined their powers with Dodderick's magic. Sand Witch threw a sandwich. The farts got distracted eating it. Gerald released the MEGA-BURP. Glitterbane added RAINBOW-FART. The attacks scattered the Fartarian Empire!

"NOOOOO!" wailed Emperor Stinkicus. "WE'LL REFORM! IN THREE HUNDRED YEARS!"

They jumped through the portal! FLASH! Back in the present — exactly three seconds after they'd left.

The heroes return home through the portal

Back home, three seconds later

And so Who Witch joined the kingdom — born from the confusion they'd created. Now there were FOUR witches.

"This is going to be a DISASTER," said Princess Chandamel.

"Which disaster?" asked Which Witch. "THAT disaster!" said That Witch. "WHO said disaster?" asked Who Witch. "Want a sandwich?" asked Sand Witch.

The Princess put her face in her hands.

Chapter 12

The Space Adventure of Utter Nonsense

One week after the time travel incident, something fell from the sky. It was big. It was shiny. It was shaped like a giant metal potato.

Zorbax's spaceship crashes into the Royal Cabbage Patch

The metal potato arrives — with some collateral cabbage damage

The metal potato had a door. The door opened. Out stepped a tiny green alien — about two feet tall, with three eyes, seven fingers, and an expression of complete confusion.

"Blurp?" said the alien. "Blurp yourself!" said Dumb Knight defensively.

Dodderick cast a translation spell. The alien explained: "I crashed because my ship ran out of FUEL! I need METHANE GAS to power my engines!" Everyone slowly turned to look at Gerald.

"My farts can FUEL A SPACESHIP?!" Gerald was so happy he farted immediately. PPPPHHHHBBBBTTTT!

The alien's name was Zorbax, from Planet Fluffington-7. He was searching for the legendary CHAOS CRYSTAL — hidden on the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. His sensors had led him here. Zorbax offered a deal: help find the crystal in exchange for a tour of SPACE!

Space was AMAZING — stars, planets, a comet shaped like a chicken. But then: "ENEMY SHIP APPROACHING!" On the viewscreen: a massive black spaceship shaped like a skull wearing a top hat.

"CAPTAIN NASTYPANTS!" gasped Zorbax. "The most FEARED space pirate in the galaxy!"

Captain Nastypants on the viewscreen demanding surrender

Captain Nastypants — magnificent moustache, terrible name

Captain Nastypants demanded surrender. The witches did their thing — redirecting lasers, confusing computers, throwing sandwiches as decoys. Nastypants' crew lost their minds: "WHICH target?!" "THAT one!" "WHO ordered that?!" "I want a SANDWICH!"

Gerald saw his chance. He pointed his bottom at Nastypants' ship and released the BIGGEST SPACE FART in history!

Gerald's legendary space fart engulfs Captain Nastypants' ship

In space, no one can hear you fart. But they can definitely smell it.

The fart engulfed Nastypants' ship. "RETREAT! THE SMELL IS GETTING THROUGH THE HULL! AND MY CREW WON'T STOP ASKING 'WHICH SMELL'! RETREEEEEAT!" His ship zoomed away, trailing fart-clouds and existential confusion.

They found the Chaos Crystal inside an asteroid shaped like the King's face. Zorbax dropped everyone home, promising to visit again — though he looked slightly traumatised. "Come back anytime!" called Dim Knight. "Which time?" asked Which Witch. Zorbax flew away VERY quickly.

🛡️ Puzzle Ahead! Sir Dim needs to reach the castle armoury where the Chaos Crystal is stored. But the corridor is locked — and a goblin guard is asleep nearby...

✦ PUZZLE 1 ✦
The Clumsy Goblin's Shield Code
Sir Dim stands at a fork in the castle dungeon. Two heavy doors face him — both locked. A goblin guard snores thunderously against the wall. Three mismatched shields hang above him. Each one has a keyhole hidden behind it — the shield IS the lock. Choose the wrong one and something far less pleasant will happen.

Scratched into the floor in the goblin's messy handwriting:
"Swords + Stars = The Right Door"

🛡️ Shield A

🐉 Dragons: 2
👑 Crowns: 5

Shield A: Swords (3) + Stars (0) =

Shield B: Swords (0) + Stars (4) =

Shield C: Swords (2) + Stars (3) =

Which shield has BOTH swords AND stars? Choose below.

😱 Wrong Choice!

Chaos as the goblin wakes up after the shield clangs

The goblin was NOT as asleep as he appeared

Sir Dim presses Shield A. It clangs to the floor with an almighty CRASH. The goblin's eyes snap open. "OI!" The snoring was a trap — the goblin was only pretending to sleep! The alarms sound. Sir Dim runs, trips over his own sword, and somehow ends up back at the beginning of the corridor.

Shield A only has swords — no stars. The clue says you need BOTH. Try the puzzle again!

⏪ Try Again — Back to the Puzzle

💥 Wrong Choice!

Sir Dim presses Shield B. A trapdoor opens beneath his feet. There is no time to react. There is only falling. And then a very smelly room at the bottom. It smells of old goblin socks and broken dreams.

Shield B only has stars — no swords. You need a shield with BOTH! Try the puzzle again.

⏪ Try Again — Back to the Puzzle

✅ Shield C was correct! 2 swords + 3 stars = 5. The lock clicks open. The goblin snores on. Sir Dim tiptoes through, grinning.

Chapter 13

The Incredibly Shrinking Knights

The kingdom's annual "Bring A Weird Thing Day" was going well until someone brought a VERY weird thing — a glowing mushroom. That was singing.

"Mushrooms don't SING," said Princess Chandamel. "🎵 Yes we doooo! 🎵" sang the mushroom. "...I stand corrected."

Unfortunately, Dopey Knight hadn't heard the warning. He was hungry. He took a bite. Everything was suddenly getting BIGGER. Dopey Knight had SHRUNK to the size of a mouse!

Dopey Knight shrunk to mouse size, surrounded by giant furniture

Dopey discovers the mushroom's effect — from the floor

"If eating it makes you small, eating MORE makes you big!" declared Dumb Knight. He ate the mushroom. He shrank. Dozy Knight slept through the explanation, woke up, saw mushroom, ate mushroom, shrank. Three tiny knights!

Sebastian the Sausage rolling through the castle finding the tiny knights

Sebastian — low to the ground, surprisingly effective as a spy

Sebastian the Sausage — being low to the ground — could see everything. He found all three: Dozy asleep on a dust bunny, Dumb being crowned king by dust bunnies, Dopey stuck to a piece of cheese. They fed the tiny knights mushroom pieces and all three grew back to normal.

Then Which Witch accidentally ate some mushroom. Then That Witch tried to save her. Then Who Witch touched it investigating. Three tiny witches ran amok. Sand Witch alone remained normal-sized, wrangled her tiny sisters, and watched them grow back with a sigh.

The Singing Mushroom was locked in a vault. "🎵 All alone, in the dark! 🎵" it sang sadly. "NO ONE feels bad for you!" shouted everyone. "🎵 That's fair, I deserve this! 🎵"

The Giant Who Was Scared of Everything

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

A GIANT was approaching — taller than the tallest tower, with feet the size of houses. "WE'RE DOOMED!" wailed the King. "I'LL FIGHT HIM!" announced Dim Knight. "Your sword is the size of his FINGERNAIL," pointed out Glitterbane.

The giant reached the castle, looked down, and burst into tears. "WAAAAAAAAHHHHH! I'M LOOOOOST! I WANT MY MUMMY!"

Timmy the giant crying in front of Confusington Castle, pointing at a butterfly saying Hello!, Glitterbane saying Finally someone understands, the four knights and Kevin running below, the King watching from the battlements

Timmy — seven years old (in giant years), frightened of butterflies

The giant's name was Timmy. He was scared of EVERYTHING — bugs, birds, butterflies especially. "Butterflies are TERRIFYING!" agreed Glitterbane. "Finally, someone UNDERSTANDS!"

Princess Chandamel took charge. The knights agreed to help Timmy find the Land of Big People in the clouds. Timmy threw them up — successfully, thanks to the witches' protection spells. They landed on cotton candy clouds.

They found Timmy's family, who planted magic beans and grew a new beanstalk instantly. Timmy waved goodbye. "Thank you for helping me! Even the scary witches!" "We're not SCARY!" protested Which Witch. "You're VERY scary!" "Which scary?" "SEE?! THAT'S why you're scary!"

Chapter 15

The Kingdom Under the Sea (Sort Of)

It rained for three days straight. The kingdom FLOODED. Everything was waist-deep in water. The witches tried to help — making things worse, as usual.

Sand Witch paddling around on a floating sandwich-boat in the flood

Sand Witch — the practical witch has her moment

Sand Witch had the only useful contribution: waterproof sandwiches that floated. Tiny sandwich-boats that people could actually paddle around in. "I'm the practical witch!"

Things got stranger when TALKING FISH arrived. Sir Splashington, a confident salmon, demanded tribute: BREAD CRUMBS. Sand Witch began crumbling sandwiches into the water. "THESE ARE DELICIOUS! WHAT IS THIS MAGIC?!" "It's called BREAD." "TEACH US YOUR WAYS, SANDWICH WITCH!"

The flooding was solved when Dumb Knight found a giant cork in the castle basement. They pulled it. GLUG GLUG GLUG! All the water drained, revealing the ancient Fish Kingdom of FISHLANDIA. The fish were given the underground kingdom. Sand Witch opened an Underwater Sandwich Shop.

"SAND WITCH'S SUBS!" read the sign. "Now Serving Fish! Wait, Not Like THAT! Fish CUSTOMERS!"

✦ PUZZLE 2 ✦
The Royal Baker's Missing Recipe
Sir Dim finds the Royal Baker in a side corridor. The bakery smells wonderfully of warm fruit and sugar. The baker is in a panic — he's lost his recipe card for tonight's royal dessert.

"I always hide my most important notes in the FIRST LETTER of each sentence," he whispers. "Read each sentence. Write down just the first letter. The letters will spell the answer."
The Baker's Diary Entry

Look at the FIRST LETTER of each sentence only →

A ll morning I washed the mixing bowls.
P eople kept knocking on the bakery door asking for buns.
P astry dough takes a long time to roll out.
L uckily, the wood oven was perfectly hot.

The five letters spell the secret ingredient. What is it?

😳 Wrong Answer!

The baker stares in horror. "Flour?! I already HAVE flour — there's a whole sack of it right there! That's not a secret ingredient, that's just... bread." He gestures at the sack. One of the guards glances over. Sir Dim backs away very slowly.

FLOUR is already a standard ingredient — not the secret one. Look at the first letters again!

😬 Wrong Answer!

The baker's eyes light up — then sink. "I tried berries last week. They turned the entire cake purple. The King cried for twenty minutes. I cannot do that again." He shudders at the memory. Wrong ingredient.

BERRY is not what the first letters spell. Try reading just the first letter of each sentence in order.

✅ APPLE was correct! A-P-P-L-E. The baker seizes an apple, tucks it under his arm, and together they walk straight past the guards. Nobody questions the baker. Or the knight. Or the apple.

Chapter 16

The Day Everything Went Backwards

Nobody knew why it happened. One morning everyone woke up and the world was BACKWARDS. The sun rose in the WEST. Words came out in REVERSE. People walked BACKWARDS.

"HAPPENING IS WHAT?!"

Dim Knight and everyone walking backwards in a reversed world

Everything backwards — including the witches' confusion, which somehow got worse

Dodderick had cast a spell the day before to reverse his aging. It had reversed EVERYTHING instead. Sebastian the Sausage, being inherently nonsensical, was double-backwards — making him normal. He had the solution: the witches needed to cast their spells BACKWARDS to go FORWARD.

On three — despite nobody agreeing on which three — they cast their backwards magic. BOOM! Everything flashed white. And then... everything was normal again. Mostly.

As a side effect: the castle clock now runs counter-clockwise. Gerald's farts temporarily smelled like flowers. And Which Witch's spells come out in RANDOM order. "I cast HCTIW-LLEPS and got... a pineapple?" "That's not even a WORD!" "It is NOW!"

Inside Dozy Knight's Dreams

Dozy Knight had been asleep for three days straight, making noises: "Mmmffff... no, the pudding castle... don't let the cheese wizard... BANANAS!"

"He's STUCK in his dream!" realised Dodderick. He cast the spell — and accidentally pulled in Dim Knight AND all four witches.

Dozy Knight's dream was INSANE. The sky was PILLOWS. The ground was MATTRESSES. The trees were BLANKETS.

Dozy Knight on a marshmallow throne in his Pudding Castle dream

The Pudding Castle — genuinely luxurious, surprisingly difficult to leave

They found Dozy Knight in a PUDDING CASTLE, sitting on a throne of marshmallows. "Welcome! To my KINGDOM OF ETERNAL SLEEP!" Every attempt to wake him made things worse. The Nightmare Pillow Ghost appeared — ten times normal size. The witches' combined confusion bewildered it completely. It started spinning in circles, totally baffled.

Dim Knight had an idea. "Dozy! In your dream, you're WORKING! Managing a kingdom! That's a JOB!" Dream Dozy went pale. "I'm... WORKING?!" "Yes! In the REAL world, you can just SLEEP!" Dream Dozy stood up immediately. "GUARDS! I'm LEAVING! This kingdom is too much WORK!"

FLASH! Everyone woke up. Dozy Knight's eyes opened. "That dream was EXHAUSTING. Being a king is HARD. I'm going back to sleep. Regular sleep." Within seconds, he was snoring peacefully.

✦ PUZZLE 3 ✦
The Wizard's Broken Compass
Half-buried under a mossy root, Sir Dim finds a broken magical compass. Instead of North/South/East/West, the dial shows numbers. Carved into the back:
"To find your way out of the dark,
subtract 2 from every number you see."
A magical glowing message shimmers above the compass:
[ 8 ] — [ 12 ] — [ 6 ]
Subtract 2 from each number:
First:
8 − 2 =
Second:
12 − 2 =
Third:
6 − 2 =
Your decoded path code: ___ — ___ — ___

🌿 Wrong Path!

The compass glows. Sir Dim follows it confidently. He walks directly into a swamp. He is in the swamp for some time. The compass was right about something — he just forgot to subtract the 2 first.

The riddle says "subtract 2 from every number." The raw numbers 8, 12, 6 haven't been decoded yet!

⏪ Try Again — Back to the Puzzle

🐉 Wrong Path!

The path leads uphill, through a cave entrance, and straight into a very startled dragon's living room. The dragon looks equally surprised. Nobody is sure what to do. Sir Dim slowly backs out. This was the adding-instead-of-subtracting path.

The riddle says SUBTRACT 2 — not add! 8+2=10 is wrong. Try 8−2 instead.

⏪ Try Again — Back to the Puzzle

✅ 6 — 10 — 4 is correct! The compass locks onto the true path. The trees part. Sir Dim emerges into open countryside just as the sun comes up. He looks enormously pleased with himself. He has earned it.

Chapter 18

The Evil Mirror Twins

A mysterious carnival arrived, featuring the MIRROR OF OPPOSITES. "Look into it and see your EVIL TWIN!" announced the creepy carnival master.

The Mirror of Opposites at the carnival, showing evil reflections

The Mirror of Opposites — nobody thought to ask whether this was a good idea

The knights looked. Their evil reflections climbed OUT! Dark Knight (evil Dim)! Chaos Knight (hyperactive evil Dozy)! Professor Knightingale (genius evil Dumb)! Smooth Knight (graceful evil Dopey)!

The witches looked too. Which Witch's opposite: DEFINITE WITCH, who always knows EXACTLY which thing she's talking about. No confusion. Terrifying. That Witch's opposite: THIS WITCH, who points at nothing and speaks only in vague riddles. Who Witch's opposite: WHOM WITCH, who speaks with PERFECT grammar. Sand Witch's opposite: SOUP WITCH. This was personal.

The evil twins teamed up and took over the kingdom. The evil witches ran things less confusingly — which was somehow WORSE. Servants could no longer make excuses. Grammar was being corrected.

The witches battling their evil opposite twins

The great witch battle — confusion vs. precision, sandwich vs. soup

The real heroes fought back. Each witch defeated her opposite through her own nature: confusion overloaded Definite Witch; That Witch pointed AT This Witch (impossible to dodge); improper grammar bombardment short-circuited Whom Witch.

Sand Witch vs. Soup Witch escalated to food-weapon combat. Their attacks collided and created... a BREAD BOWL OF SOUP. "We've created the PERFECT FOOD," they both gasped. "JOIN US!" said Sand Witch. Soup Witch smiled. "I accept!"

Soup Witch joining the good side with Sand Witch

A historic alliance — soup and sandwiches, united at last

The evil twins were defeated — all except Soup Witch, who switched sides. "We're up to FIVE witches now," sighed Princess Chandamel. "She's WORSE than confusing!" realised Glitterbane. "She's COMPETENT!"

The Quest for the Golden Toilet

The King announced a quest for the legendary GOLDEN TOILET — an artifact of UNIMAGINABLE power! "Whoever sits upon it gains INFINITE WISDOM!" "...It's a toilet," said Princess Chandamel. "A GOLDEN toilet! With MAGIC!"

The quest party heading through dangerous territories toward the Golden Toilet

Setting out — the most dignified quest in kingdom history

The quest party navigated the Forest of Inconvenience, the River of Mild Discomfort, and the Mountain of Moderate Difficulty. The witches had opinions about all of them.

Inside the Cave of the Golden Toilet, traps awaited. The Riddle Guardian asked a riddle. Everyone answered simultaneously. The Multiple-Choice Door had four handles — the witches declared they weren't interested in non-food handles. The Final Guardian had left a note: "Heard the witches coming. Decided not to bother. Good luck. — The Management."

The GOLDEN TOILET sat in the final chamber — pure gold, velvet seat, diamond flush handle. While everyone argued about who should sit on it, Gerald sat down.

FLASH! Golden light surrounded him! "I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING! The meaning of life! The secrets of the universe!" "WHAT IS IT?!" demanded everyone. Gerald opened his mouth and... farted. PPPPHHHHHHBBBBTTTTTT! The wisdom left immediately.

"GERALD! You FARTED OUT THE WISDOM!" "I got nervous!"

The Golden Toilet became a tourist attraction. Gerald was banned from the throne room — but remembers one thing from his three seconds of wisdom: the meaning of life is friendship. Everyone thought this was cliché. Gerald maintains he forgot the good answer.

Chapter 20

The Grand Finale
(Also Known as "Everything Goes Wrong Perfectly")

It was the five-year anniversary of Dim Knight's first adventure. The celebration brought EVERYONE together — all four knights, Gerald, Glitterbane, the Troll Family, Dodderick, Sebastian, the Pillow Ghost, Sir Splashington and the fish, Timmy the Giant, Zorbax the Alien, Soup Witch, and all four original witches.

Then disaster struck. THREE PORTALS opened.

Three portals opening simultaneously with villains emerging

The worst possible anniversary surprise

From Portal 1: CAPTAIN NASTYPANTS! From Portal 2: EMPEROR STINKICUS THE THIRD! From Portal 3: ALL THE EVIL TWINS (minus Soup Witch, who had reformed). The three villain groups decided to team up.

THE FINAL BATTLE BEGAN!

The epic final battle — knights vs evil knights on the castle roof

Dim Knight vs Dark Knight — the most accidentally effective fight in history

Dim Knight fought Dark Knight on the roof and accidentally tripped him into cabbages. Dozy Knight defeated Chaos Knight by sleeping so hard that Chaos Knight exhausted himself watching. Dumb Knight defeated Professor Knightingale with impossible questions. Dopey Knight defeated Smooth Knight through sheer clumsiness.

The witches defeated their evil twins again — each rematch more spectacular than the last. Definite Witch exploded from internal contradiction when she accidentally said "which" herself. This Witch vanished when That Witch's pointing became too specific to dodge. Whom Witch melted into dangling participles.

Sand Witch and Soup Witch launching the Soup Sandwich Combo Blast

The Soup Sandwich Combo Blast — unstoppable, delicious, Italian

Soup Witch and Sand Witch launched their ultimate SOUP SANDWICH COMBO BLAST — a tidal wave of minestrone in sourdough bread bowls. The remaining evil twins were buried in delicious Italian comfort food.

Gerald and Glitterbane's victory sparkle-fart rainbow explosion

The victory sparkle-fart — beautiful, smelly, and entirely appropriate

Gerald farted. Glitterbane rainbow-farted. Their combined SPARKLE-STINK created a tornado that scattered the Fartarian Empire. The trolls grabbed the farts and jarred them.

Captain Nastypants was overwhelmed by five witches simultaneously, flopped onto by fish, bubbled by Zorbax, and floated away into space vowing revenge.

VICTORY!

As the sun set, the King made his speech: "FIVE YEARS AGO, we were a kingdom of NOTHING SPECIAL! Now we have dragons! Unicorns! Trolls! Talking sausages! Fish kingdoms! Giants! Aliens! And FIVE confusing witches!"

Gerald looked at everyone gathered around him. "I love this kingdom," he said softly. Then he farted. PPHHHHHHBBBBBBTTTTTTTT! Glitterbane rainbow-farted. SPARKLE-PPPFFFTTT! Their combined farts blossomed into a beautiful, smelly, sparkly cloud.

"AMAZING!" cheered everyone. "Which amazing?" asked Which Witch. But this time, everyone just laughed. Even Glitterbane smiled. (Don't tell anyone.)

THE END
(But not really.)

Because in the Kingdom of Confusington, the adventure NEVER truly ends. There will always be another witch to confuse. Another dragon to fart. Another sandwich to make.

And the Dim Knight and his brothers — and ALL their ridiculous friends — will be there. Being useless. Being confusing. Being absolutely, completely, wonderfully... HEROIC. In their own special way.

🐉💨🦄🌈🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🥪🍲👻🧌🛡️⚔️👑🎉
"WHICH END?"   "THAT END!"   "WHO ENDED IT?"   "WANT A SANDWICH?"   "OR SOUP?"
⚠️ One final decision remains. The villains are beaten — but the Fartarian Empire still exists in the future. The Chaos Crystal is the key. One last choice will determine whether the Empire is destroyed, transformed, or... if you need to try again.

The Chaos Crystal is secured in the castle armoury. But Dodderick's calculations are alarming.

"If the Crystal reaches the wrong hands in the FUTURE," he announced, waving his wand rather too close to the King's hat, "it powers the Fartarian Empire for a thousand years. We must act NOW to stop that future from ever happening."

Princess Chandamel took charge. "Three groups. Three plans. We split up." She looked around the room. "Choose wisely. Everything depends on it."

Which path do you take?
🕵️ Path A — The Stealth Route
Princess Chandamel and Sebastian lead a secret operation. Brains over brawn. Infiltration over confrontation. Recommended for readers who like spy puzzles and sneaking.
✨ Path B — The Magic Route
The Witches and Dodderick use clue-analysis and chaotic magic. Less predictable. Probably messier. Definitely more cauldrons. Recommended for readers who like detective puzzles.
⚔️ Path C — The Confrontation Route
Sir Dim and Gerald charge in directly. No sneaking. No magic. Just a wooden sword, a determined unicorn, and an extraordinary amount of confidence. Recommended for readers who like action and maps.

Chandamel spread a map across the table and tapped it with one finger. "Here is the plan. Sebastian has already gone ahead to scout the armoury. While the villains watch the front gate, WE go around the back. No fighting. No explosions."

She looked directly at Gerald. Gerald looked at the floor.

"Sebastian has left us a coded message with the meeting point," she continued. "He uses a cipher — because he is a spy, and spies do that sort of thing. You'll need to decode it before we can proceed. The message is on the wall by the east corridor. Carefully."

She handed over a folded card with a symbol key on it. "Don't lose this. I only have the one copy."

A tiny rolled parchment is wedged behind a loose stone. Sebastian's handwriting — small, round, slightly squashed at the edges:

"The pirates are already inside. I am near the kitchen. Don't ask why. It involves a cheese wheel and a complicated moral dilemma.

My message is hidden in the letter below. Read it carefully — only the RED letters are real. The others are decoys I added to confuse anyone intercepting this note.

— S.

P.S. If anyone is eating me right now — PLEASE STOP."
📜 The Coded Letter

Greetings from the kitchens! Working undercover is harder than it sounds, particularly when one is Expected to actually make soup. I have rolled beneath seventeen tables so far. The guards are very well-Shod. Also there is a mouse in here who keeps looking at me in a way I find unsettling. Do noT bring Gerald. He will ruin everything.

The red letters only. What four-letter word do they spell?

Which direction does Sebastian's message say to go?
EAST
Head east down the main corridor.
NORTH
Take the north stairs to the battlements.
WEST
Go west — past the eel barrel, to Sebastian's position.

🚪 Wrong Corridor!

You head the wrong way and find yourself face-to-face with a very confused palace cook who insists you taste the soup. It takes forty minutes to escape politely.

Remember: the red letters only in Sebastian's message. Read just those four letters in order — what word do they spell?

⏪ Try Again — Back to the Message

✅ WEST — Correct!

W–E–S–T. You head west, past the eel barrel (Sebastian was right, it smells terrible), and find him wedged behind a flour sack, slightly dusty but very pleased with himself.

"Told you the cipher would work," he said. "I also found a back entrance to the armoury. The Crystal is right there. Follow me — quietly."

The stealth team slips into position. The rest of the adventure continues with Chandamel's plan in motion — and every chapter now has her eyes watching for opportunities the others would miss.

The Witches' Investigation Board

"We don't need sneaking," said Which Witch. "We need CLUES." "WHICH clues?" asked Who Witch. "THAT kind!" said That Witch, pointing at the wall where Dodderick had already begun pinning things.

Dodderick's investigation board was enormous. It covered an entire wall of the throne room and featured, among other things: three sandwich wrappers, a sketch of what he believed Emperor Stinkicus looked like (wrong), a star map, and a note that simply read "BEANS???" underlined four times.

"I've been working on this for DAYS," said Dodderick proudly. "Some of these clues are REAL. Some... are ones I added during a confused period last Tuesday. I can no longer tell which is which."

The witches put their heads together. Four clues are genuine. Four are Dodderick's red herrings. Figure out which are real — and the first letter of each real clue's key word spells the answer.

🔍 Gatekeeper Puzzle! Study the investigation board, identify the four REAL clues, and decode the answer they spell.

✨ MAGIC GATEKEEPER ✨
The Witches' Investigation Board
Eight items are pinned to the board. Four are genuine clues (stamped ✅ VERIFIED by Who Witch's seal). Four are Dodderick's red herrings (stamped ❌ DODDERICK — added during "a confused period").

Each genuine clue has one word in BLOCK CAPITALS. Take the first letter of each block-capitals word, in order. What four-letter word do they spell?
✅ VERIFIED — Genuine Clue #1

The Crystal was last seen being carried towards the north tower. The guard who reported it said he noticed because of how it seemed to SWAP colour in different light — green outside, gold inside.

❌ DODDERICK — Red Herring

I am LEGENDARY in my field of investigation. I have solved seventeen mysteries, two of which were real. The others were about lost sandwiches.

✅ VERIFIED — Genuine Clue #2

Emperor Stinkicus communicated with someone inside the castle. The message said: "Do WHATEVER it takes to retrieve the Crystal. We will be watching."

❌ DODDERICK — Red Herring

I RETURNED from the market yesterday and noticed the Crystal room smelled of fish. I believe this is RELEVANT. The fish were from Sand Witch's lunch. Still relevant, I feel.

✅ VERIFIED — Genuine Clue #3

The Crystal responds to magical energy. Whoever holds it AFTER a spell is cast nearby can redirect its power. Timing is critical.

❌ DODDERICK — Red Herring

I have noticed that BEANS appear repeatedly in the evidence. BEANS were mentioned by Stinkicus. BEANS were in the kitchen. BEANS are suspicious. I am watching the BEANS.

✅ VERIFIED — Genuine Clue #4

The witches' combined power can create a copy — a convincing fake Crystal. If the villains are PLEASED enough with the fake to take it and leave, the real one stays safe forever.

❌ DODDERICK — Red Herring

I have conducted a GOLD star review of all my previous clues and maintain that all of them are correct, including the ones about beans, the moon, and the time I thought the cat was a spy.

The four VERIFIED clues each have one word in BLOCK CAPITALS. Write down the first letter of each block-capitals word, in order:

___ · ___ · ___ · ___

Clue: the four letters spell a single word that describes exactly what the witches need to do with the Crystal.

What four-letter word do the clues spell?
LRBG
(From Dodderick's red herring clues)
SWAP
The witches need to swap the Crystal for a convincing fake.
PEST
(Mixed up letters from various clues)

🔍 Not Quite!

"LRBG?" said Who Witch. "WHO came up with LRBG?"

"I may have," admitted Dodderick quietly.

Only use the ✅ VERIFIED clues — ignore anything stamped ❌ DODDERICK. Find the BLOCK CAPITALS word in each genuine clue, then take its first letter.

⏪ Try Again — Back to the Board

✅ SWAP — Correct!

S–W–A–P. The first letters of SWAP, WHATEVER, AFTER, PLEASED. The witches need to swap the Chaos Crystal for a convincing fake — and the plan clicks into place.

"Brilliant!" said Dodderick. "I had suspected BEANS, but this is better."

The witches get to work on the fake Crystal. The magic path forward is clear — and every chapter ahead will be shaped by their spellwork and analysis.

⚔️ Path C — The Confrontation Route

Gerald's Battle Briefing

"MY plan," announced Dim Knight, standing on a chair for authority, "is this: we find the villains, and we BEAT THEM."

There was a long pause.

"That's... it?" said Chandamel. "That's the whole plan?" "It is a very FOCUSED plan," said Dim Knight. "No unnecessary words. Gerald agrees. Don't you, Gerald." Gerald farted. Everyone took this as a yes.

The confrontation plan required one thing first: knowing exactly where to aim. Gerald had spent three days practising his fart trajectory in the castle courtyard and had drawn a map. It was not a good map. But somewhere on it was the answer — the exact fart path that would scatter the enemy forces and open the way forward.

💨 Gatekeeper Puzzle! Study Gerald's Fart Trajectory Map and identify which training fart lands on the correct target square.

⚔️ CONFRONTATION GATEKEEPER ⚔️
Gerald's Fart Trajectory Battle Map
Gerald fired six training farts across the castle courtyard to find the right angle. Each fart started from position D5 on the grid below.

Your task: Follow the directions for each fart and find where it lands. The correct fart — the one that hits the ♛ Crown Square — is the one to use in the real battle.

Note: This map was drawn by Dim Knight. It is not a good map. The compass may be slightly wrong. Gerald says this doesn't matter.
The Grid — Castle Courtyard (top-down view)

🦄 = Gerald (start D5)  |  ♛ = Crown Square (target!)  |  💥 = Stable wall (do not hit)

Gerald's Six Training Farts

Track each fart from D5. Use the workings column to record each step. North = up (lower row number). East = right (higher column letter).

Fart Directions from D5 Working (write here) Lands on
1 3 steps North, then 1 step East D5 → D4 → D3 → D2, then E2 E2
2 1 step East, then 2 steps South D5 → E5, then E6 → E7 E7
3 ⭐ 2 steps North, then 2 steps East D5 → D4 → D3, then E3 → F3 ???
4 3 steps South, then 2 steps West D5 → D6 → D7 → D8, then C8 → B8 B8
5 1 step North, then 3 steps East D5 → D4, then E4 → F4 → G4 G4
6 1 step South, then 3 steps East D5 → D6, then E6 → F6 → G6 G6 = 💥 WALL

⭐ One fart is starred because Gerald says it's his favourite. Track it and see where it lands. Does it hit the ♛ Crown Square?

Which training fart lands on the ♛ Crown Square (F3)?
Fart 1 — lands on E2
3 North, 1 East from D5
Fart 3 ⭐ — lands on F3
2 North, 2 East from D5 — Gerald's favourite
Fart 6 — lands on G6 💥
1 South, 3 East from D5

💨 Wrong Fart!

Gerald shakes his head solemnly. "That one hit the apple cart. And the laundry. And, regrettably, a diplomat who was visiting from the North."

Track Fart 3 carefully: start at D5, go 2 steps North (to D3), then 2 steps East (to F3). Check the grid — does F3 have the ♛ Crown Square?

⏪ Try Again — Back to the Map

✅ Fart 3 — Correct!

F3 — the Crown Square! 2 steps North from D5 to D3, then 2 steps East to F3. Gerald's favourite fart is indeed his most accurate.

"I knew it!" said Gerald. He sounded very proud. He farted again immediately, just to celebrate. Glitterbane walked three rooms away.

The confrontation plan is locked in. Dim Knight leads the charge — accidentally effective, deeply enthusiastic — with Gerald providing cover from a safe distance. Every chapter ahead will be shaped by their gloriously chaotic approach.

⚔️ The Final Decision

One Last Choice

The Grand Finale was over. The villains had been defeated. The kingdom was safe — for now. But in the distance, a faint green glow rose from the armoury window. The Chaos Crystal was still there. Still powerful. Still pointing towards a future where the Fartarian Empire would form.

"One last thing," said Princess Chandamel quietly. Everyone stopped celebrating. Even Gerald's next fart came out as more of a thoughtful sigh.

"The Crystal's timeline still leads to the Empire. We have one chance to change the future permanently. Three options. Choose carefully — because this determines how the story ends."

How do you end the Fartarian Empire?

🏆 TRUE WIN 🏆

The Crystal hummed in Chandamel's hands. The witches formed a circle. Dodderick raised his wand — rather higher than necessary, but the dramatic effect was appreciated.

"On three," said Chandamel. "Which three?" asked Which Witch. "THAT three!" said That Witch. "WHO is counting?" asked Who Witch. "I'LL COUNT," said Dodderick, and he counted to seven just to be safe.

The Crystal blazed white. A shockwave of pure light rippled outward — not across Confusington, but across TIME. In the future, the Fartarian Empire felt it. Emperor Stinkicus the Third clutched his fart-crown and gasped as the Crystal's energy simply... rewrote the timeline.

No empire. No tribute. No beans. The Great Fart Cloud dissolved. The future Confusington, which had been a cheese castle of misery, became instead a cheese castle of mild confusion — an enormous improvement.

Future Queen Chandamel the Patient watched from a future window as the green cloud cleared for the first time in centuries. "Oh," she said. "Oh, that's rather nice."

Back in the present, Gerald farted. But this time — inexplicably, wonderfully — it came out golden and sparkling. Glitterbane stared. "I am choosing," she said very carefully, "not to comment on that."

The Crystal went dark. The timeline was healed. The future was changed.

🏆✨🎉🦄👑🎊
THE FARTARIAN EMPIRE NEVER EXISTED.

🤷 THE COMPLICATED WIN 🤷

T-H-E. "THE." The word was the beginning of a sentence. Stinkicus's full offer arrived moments later, unrolling across the throne room floor for eleven feet:

"THE Fartarian Empire hereby proposes to transform into THE Fartarian Sandwich Empire. We have been thinking about it. The tribute system is inefficient. Sandwiches seem more sustainable. We would like to open a shop."

There was a very long silence.

"He wants to open a SANDWICH SHOP?" said Dim Knight. "In the FUTURE?" "Apparently," said Chandamel. "Instead of conquering time." "...That's actually better," said Dumb Knight.

The negotiations took three hours, two additional scrolls, and one incident with Gerald that everyone agreed not to mention in the official record. But in the end, a deal was struck.

In the year 3025, the Great Fart Cloud dispersed. The castle of cheese was renovated. And on the main square of Future Confusington, a small, slightly green shop opened its doors:

🥪 THE FARTARIAN SANDWICH EMPIRE 🥪
"Formerly the Most Feared Empire in Time. Now: Lunch."
Open Mon–Sat. Closed Sundays. No beans.

Gerald received a loyalty card. He was very touched. Glitterbane received one too, and called it "undignified" — but was seen carrying it in her horn for the next six months.

🔍 Diagnostic Riddle 1

I have no hands, no feet, no voice — but I decide which way time flows. I was in the armoury. Someone did not secure me.

What am I? (This tells us whether the Crystal was properly handled.)

What are we? (This tells us whether the Mirror Twins were properly dealt with.)

🔍 Diagnostic Riddle 3 — The Tiebreaker
